Spalding Early Bird Show
March 21st 2010
What an amazing day! The Spalding Committee must be congratulated on their organisation of a lovely show. The weather was not too hot, for so early in the year, and I'm sure they were very pleased with the turnout of riders in both hacking rings and then later in the jumping and novelties. It then came to an abrupt end with the arrival of a huge storm...an absolutely crazy end to the day!
Congratulations to our Walkaway members:
Louise Demartini and Dottie were out in the hacking arena and doing a super job., for so early in the year. Louise had a huge number of horses in her classes and I'm sure she was able to take a lot away from this event.
Hayley Frank's and Fizzy did well in their first hacking events, and topped it with two blues in their jumping events. Hayley's round was beautiful to watch and I'm sure we were lucky to witness the first round of a future showjumping star! But I cannot miss mentioning Hayley's fancy dress entry, along with her 'beach bum' dad, super cool dude and both deserved their blue ribbon! I'm hoping that there is a photo out there.
Abby Green had a go at everything ! And came home with lots of ribbons, of every colour, though she reports was somewhat let down by her leader as she "doesn't run as fast as Dad!" I must admit, she doesn't jump all that well either, finding the 30cm course a bit of a stretch.
Kelsey, Demi and Ellie Williams took on the showjumping course. All did a fine job and continue to build their skills in this discipline.
